1. 林家凉皮 (Li Jia Liang Pi)
林家凉皮 at Bishan Mall is a hidden gem offering authentic and deeply satisfying Chinese comfort food. The no-frills restaurant impresses with its flavourful dishes, including standout items like 酸菜鱼 (sauerkraut fish) and 番茄炒蛋 (tomato egg) with a unique “wok-hei” taste. The freshly made daily 凉皮 (cold skin noodles) and Bandit’s Stir-Fried Pork with Dried Beans are also highly recommended. While the prices are slightly high and there is no air conditioning, the friendly service and nostalgic flavours make it worth a visit. Conveniently located next to Bishan MRT station, it is perfect for delicious, affordable Bishan Chinese food.
Business Reviews:
1. Simple, humble, no frills place, but a hidden gem in the area. Their food, unassuming, yet checks all the right boxes, and exceeds expectations. First visit, and was blown away by the food. Deeply satisfying. Will recommend, and will return. Very friendly lady boss. For 2 pax, we ordered:- 酸菜鱼 ,番茄炒蛋 ,炒饭. And dabao-ed the leftovers. Was blown away by, of all things, their Tomato Egg. “How good can a simple egg dish possibly be?” was the thought that came to mind when gf wanted to try it. Tried it, and was utterly impressed. Full of “wok-hey”, for a simple saucy 番茄炒蛋. A first for me, tasting wokhey in this dish, nothing like the other ones outside.
Their 酸菜鱼 (sauerkraut fish) was great too. 开胃 (appetising), and just the right amount of sourness, and spice. The 粉条 (noodles) inside was great too. Thoroughly enjoyable. Paired with rice/ or in our case, their fried rice, and it’s a perfect comfort food after a long day’s work. The 3 dishes alone, would comfortably feed 3. Will return to try their other dishes with a bigger party.
2. As someone who stayed in Beijing for half a year and enjoys travelling to China, this is my go-to China comfort food in Singapore. Very authentic cooking, that reminds me of my studying days. Absolutely enjoy the 水煮鱼,糖醋里脊,酸溜土豆丝,凉皮 and many more. And they still serve 王老吉, my all time favourite. Only issue is the relatively high prices and the lack of aircon, if not the place is definitely perfect for Chinese food!
3. A very affordable Chinese restaurant. The name of the store is Linjia Liangpi, so you must try Liangpi! The cold skin is made fresh every day by the store. The noodles are delicious and the sauce suits my taste. For stir-fry, I ordered the bandit’s stir-fried pork with dried beans. It was delicious and went great with rice. I also ordered a side of cold shredded beans, which didn’t suit my taste. I might try other cold dishes next time. In general, ordering a portion of cold noodles plus a stir-fried dish and a cold dish is just right for two people. It is recommended to order a few more dishes. The portions of each dish are not too big, but the price is affordable and it is right next to Bishan subway station. It is still worth going there again.

1. The staff always serve with a smile and very patient. I went to ask about my membership and remaining vouchers, the staff was very patient to explain. They did not mind if you claim the voucher and no order other dishes. The dishes always taste very consistent. Love this place
2. One of my family’s favourite restaurants in Singapore. Love their food, especially their dang gui duck. Great selection of dishes besides their signature herbal ducks. Spacious and clean restaurant. Just had a meal there to celebrate my mum’s birthday, and the service was exceptional! The waitress not only helped to keep the cake I brought in their fridge but also served it after our meal with plates and spoons for all of us. So touched!
