1. Very good portion at reasonable price. They have gone easy on seasoning which is great because it’s very hard to find healthier food options these days. Friendly people manning the store. They gave recommendation on the dishes for the number of diners so we don’t over order. We finished everything because it was just so good. Satisfying meal.

Star of the show for me was the steamed fish – the preserved bean sauce topping the fish which I was told was house made was superbly umami and addictive. I ate almost my entire bowl of rice scooping the sauce over. My parents loved the steamed egg, which was so silky my dad likened it to chawanmushi. They also make their own side chilli sauce which was delicious – sour and spicy, moreish with rice; I had to return for more. The food was also excellent value for money. We paid $35 for the fish, lily bulb chicken, steamed egg, veges and 3 bowls of rice. Can’t recommend this enough.

2. Wished i found this place sooner. Wife and i really like Fish Head Steampot alot, but the usually worry is that if it tastes good, usually there is too much MSG. Definitely not the case here. We used to have to travel out of Punggol for good steampot, i guess not anymore. Will return with friends so we can try their other unique signatures.
