1. Aburi-en never disappoints! The beef is perfectly grilled and melts in your mouth — so flavorful and tender. The rice bowls are generous, and I love how every bite feels rich but not too heavy. Service is fast and staff are friendly. A bit pricey, but totally worth it for the quality and taste. Will definitely come back! 🍱🔥

The ambience is modern yet cosy, and the service is attentive and friendly. The menu offers a variety of options. Great spot for a casual meal or a special treat in the heart of the city.
3. Visited Aburi-En at Guoco Tower and ordered the Beef Striploin Steak Teppan and Iberico Hoho Yaki. Both were delicious. Will definitely be back to try more dishes.

Nutritionally rich, unagi provides protein, vitamins, and beneficial fatty acids, making it both tasty and wholesome. The restaurant’s specially selected rice rounds off the dish, delivering the perfect harmony of texture and taste that makes Unatoto a must-visit for anyone looking for casual yet refined Japanese food in Tanjong Pagar.
1. Service was exceptional. I had trouble ordering via the QR code and the staff helped me with it. Food came out fast and hot. Unagi don was flavourful and it fixed my unagi craving. Love it
2. First time visit unatoto. We love their unagi so much. Different size to choose with. We choose the premium size for sharing. It is very good for two person. Service is good and less crowded for Sunday evening. Nice experience and nice dinner we have it. Friendly staff. Definitely we will be back again. Good job 👍
3. Very nice unagi. Unbelievable juicy and soft meat. Ordered 1 round and it was not enough so order the full unagi. Very satisfying and delicious. Come early as it gets crowded during peak hours. Recommended

Shin Katsu is a Japanese restaurant in Tanjong Pagar that elevates the humble tonkatsu into an artful dining experience. The menu showcases globally sourced premium pork cuts, including Mangalica from Hungary, U.S. Kurobuta, and Canadian Rosu and Hire, each prepared with precision and care. Bespoke panko breading ensures a light crunch without sacrificing juiciness, while charcoal-grilled rice adds a unique smoky note. Led by Chef Matsubayashi Masato, Shin Katsu embodies a philosophy of balance, texture, and authenticity, reimagining tonkatsu beyond comfort food into a refined culinary journey. Every detail, from ingredient selection to meticulous cooking techniques, is a testament to expert craftsmanship.
1. Had quite an enjoyable birthday lunch here with my friend she choose …. The cuts of pork were very good .The meats were crispy and tasty. The oysters n prawn were fresh and plump with a crispy coating. The set comes with refillable charcoal rice and cabbage. You can also grind your own sesame seeds, to be mixed with the tonkatsu sauce which was nice if a tad sweet and slightly heavy. Loved the mustard and the egg mayo sauce for the oysters. The soup was robust with a strong flavour of pork. Super yummy. Service was friendly and quick.
2. Dropped by during lunch hour and managed to get seats at the counter as a group was no show. It’s a small space with a live action view of the chefs at work. Ambience was really nice and it felt like I was in an authentic Jap place. The Pork Cutlet was slightly pink and crispy, tender and juicy (so said my friend) while I had the Chicken Cutlet. It was surprisingly light and crisp while retaining the meat tenderness and moist. It was really good! I couldn’t stop eating every grain of rice that was fragrant, having been cooked in a Kamado Joe. Miso soup was also distinctly different and richer as it’s filled with minced meat and vegetables. One thing I love is the of crisp shredded cabbage and grinding the sesame seeds for that added nuttiness with the sauce. Added on a side of cold tofu with some housemade sauce that was savoury and tangy.
3. Loved it, best tonkatsu ive had. We had the Black Truffle Katsu (160g) which was very unique and the Hire Katsu (120g) as i usually prefer a leaner cut – both were very tender and went well with the tonkatsu sauce. Loved the refreshing sides too. Walked in before 6pm on a Saturday and managed to get a seating for 60 mins (as opposed to their usual 90 mins dining limit).
