Since 2019 I’ve have been patronizing the store to buy cakes for my family, especially pineapple tarts for my colleagues, friends and family. Business is always brisk especially lunch hours. Hope the store survive the test of time and continue to let us indulge in old school tastes that simple yet enjoyable.
2. Go back in time in this quaint bakery with its vintage decor, complete with old-style sliding glass door cupboards housing the daily delicious bakes with different toppings. This shop is manned by an elderly couple; it’s self-service and cash payment only. Each slice of soft sponge cake is HEAPED with toppings; my heart cried in dismay when the abundant choc rice fell off my slice as I was placing it on my tray. Cakes are soft and light, with the spread of cream and toppings complementing very well. Do support if in the vicinity!
3. Such a relic. An old grand dame stuck in time in the most precious way. Amid all the glitzy new cafes and bakeries sprouting out all over Singapore, am so glad to still see this shop standing after all these years. A testimony to heartfelt baking and the work of the elderly owners. Not much was left when I visited on a late Saturday afternoon. Bought the five spice elephant ears instead. So crunchy and with a lovely spice kick! Will be back for more!
