1. Had this huge plate for breakfast. -Baker’s Breakfast. Pork sausage, scrambled eggs, garlic tempeh fries, fresh tomato, white anchovies, pickled mushrooms, kombu butter, sourdough. (Pork sausage, scrambled eggs, garlic tempeh fries, fresh tomatoes, white anchovies, pickled mushrooms, kombu butter, sourdough.) This sour bun is fragrant, tough, soft and incredibly delicious. The kombu cream is smooth and rich. The pork sausage is full of juicy, fragrant and chewy. The scrambled eggs are tender and delicious. The garlic tempeh fries are rich, tender and outstanding. Fresh tomatoes are refreshing and appetizing. The white anchovies are delicate and delicious. The pickled mushrooms are very sour. Basically all delicious. After finishing the meal, I was still unsatisfied, so I took out a serving of sour buns and two servings of kombu cream. -CoffeeExpresso. It’s a bit sour and goes well with protein. -scented tea Fresh and pleasant, very refreshing.
2. The bakes are really lovely – dark chocolate zucchini brownie, ham and cheese toast. The coffee here is also great as well.. I’m deducting points for the service here -we were seated at the communal table and our bakes and coffee had been served. The staff asked whether we would like to shift to a smaller table that was just vacated. I asked whether a larger group was coming given that we had already made ourselves comfortable, to which he replied yes. I obliged and proceeded to pack and moved our food to the new table, but also expected some assistance rendered given that it would be a few trips to and fro.. I am left speechless as the staff moved only one plate and scurried off to another area.. No communication and a half hearted help and just a puzzling moment altogether 😪 And as I stared at the communal table longingly, the supposed big group never actually came to the communal table. 😢
3. Food was great, especially the seeded sourdough. Very pricey but there were no GST nor service charges. Tables were very crammed though, catering mostly for two diners. Ordering and payment at counter, together with the take-out customers.
