2. I’ve repeatedly tried all three MacPherson Minced Meat Noodles stalls – by the master, Uncle Yap, his brother-in-law, Ah Hock, and Uncle Yap’s apprentice here at Tai Thong Crescent. IMO, the last, Uncle Yap’s apprentice’s rendition is the best. And despite the long queues and hectic pace at Tai Thong Crescent, the apprentice still has the time and patience to banter with his customers.
3. Love their minced meat noodles! It’s a must to add their braised chicken feet if u love it. Fragrant and soft, the skin debones from the bone easily. Their chilli is really good too! I’ll usually go for their mee kia spicy!😋

1. Came on a Sat, opening time was 8.30am instead of the 8am stated in Google. Ordered the Signature Set, noodles was extremely springy with good bite to it, sauce was vinegary and presence of pork lard gave it the flavour and crunch it needed. The set also came with 2 slices of abalone, lots of braised mushrooms and 1 piece of pork trotter. The auntie will ask you whether you eat pork trotter or not, and give you other braise pork pieces if you don’t eat. Soup was nothing short of amazing, full of flavour, leaning towards peppery taste. It had lots of pork slices, couple of wanton, 1 runny egg and tons of minced meat. Highly recommended, one of the best BCM i have ever tried.

Our family’s favourite BCM stall Take note that their opening hours might be a bit weird so they might not open all the time This stalls BCM is a bit different from “normal” BCMs. Taste it and you’ll know the difference. The sauce is not as vinegary as other stalls and it has that lor mee sauce type of consistency. It also comes with egg noodles. You can also add on abalones.

1. One of our favourite haunts when it comes to BCM especially when the dish is prepared by the uncle himself. In the new location here, you place your order, pay upfront and take a number. Keep a lookout for your number to be called on the electronic screen, then go get it. My favourite is kway teow with extra chilli sauce and chilli padi. If you are a fan of mee kia or mee pok, do go early as they are often sold out before lunch. Enjoy the yumz!
2. We finally made our way to this much talked about noodle stall in TPayoh. Heard about the $500k they offered for anyone who wants to take over the shop…. In any case, we had our lunch here at 2.30pm and waited for about 30 mins. Noodle texture, soup, gravy, chilli, ingredients, etc were all quite spot on. Serving portions were also huge, even for the smallest $5 version. Nestled in a corner of a kopi tiam, the parking is rather simple. Perfect place for a noodle lunch.
3. My favourite bak chor mee, I like it that I pay and given a number instead of lining up in queue. Have been following them wherever they moved to. The price has gone up, but they are pretty generous with the portion. Somehow, I prefer their kueh teow to their mee kia, the mixture tastes much more flavorful with kueh teow.

3. Chance upon this stall selling fishball noodle sometime back while running some errands around this area, they were already closed for that day. Came back the following day at a much earlier time. There wasn’t any queue when I came back, managed to order upon reaching the stall. Price for the minced meat noodle starts from SGD$4 onwards, The bowl of noodle came with a variety of ingredients likefishcake, pork slices, dumpling, minced pork , fish paste dumpling, fishball and meatball. Noodle were nicely cooked, texture of the noodle was springy. Sauce was well balanced too. Portion was quite generous, as it was a filling meal. Overall, I think that this is an above average bowl of noodle and wouldn’t mind eating it again.
